Donna Krebs, head librarian for thirty-seven years, had handled unusual patrons before—the man who only checked out books about train schedules, the woman who insisted on reading everything backwards, the teenager who'd been working on the same crossword puzzle since 2019. But she'd never processed an application from a weather pattern.
